Taking it Easy

Thursday, August 10th, 2006

After feeling run down for what seems like months I’ve decided to take control of my life again and written myself some rules (one of which I’m bound to be breaking right now as I can be a bit strict with myself). Strangely enough, the aim of these rules is to make me relax a bit more, take a bit more time to look after myself rather than rushing about here, there and everywhere.

So, I’m spending a maximum of 9 hours at work a day, I’m spending a minimum of 9hrs in bed a day and in between that I’m taking care to eat well, which means eating more meat, having at least 4 squares of Green & Black’s chocolate a day and taking some time over my food. The other rules include things like writing more (not necessarily on a Blog!); remembering birthdays; exercising more regularly but not overdoing it if I’m not in the mood; going to more cultural events and removing clutter from the house.

Reading through them, maybe I’m just giving myself something more to feel guilty about! Anyway, I’m going off to read a book In Praise of Slow by Carl Honore so maybe that will change my ideas again.

Must go get my 9 hours in bed!

Too Nice for Typing

It’s hot and sunny and running on sunny evenings is more fun than sitting in front of a computer, so that’s what I’ve been doing. Don’t expect many more blog entries until the autumn!

An Exciting Life

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

A few people have commented that I don’t seem to be doing very much with my life as my last post was in November and that was only about going cycling around my house. This is wrong.

Basically, I’m having such an exciting life that I can never find time to write this blog thing. Hopefully you’ll be able to see a picture of me leading an exciting life here .

Cycling in Hampshire

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

Today we went for a very nice, but very cold, cycle ride from home. It was a new route for us, although we did start and finish on familiar ground. Here’s a photo I took on the way round.
