We were at the BADO event at Black Wood today and it rained. It was one of our first experiences of split starts and, despite the rain, it didn’t seem too bad. I went out very early and ran like a bit of a headless chicken around the woods on my own. I don’t seem to be able to concentrate very well these days. Then, after a quick feed, I took Emma out in the carrier for a while. There weren’t many people to watch so she fell asleep after a while, leaving me to pick my way through the mud and slippy branches without falling over.

Running in the Rain
Sunday, October 28th, 2007Running Relays
Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007It was the Southern road relays this Sunday at Rushmore Arena. I was a late addition to the Southampton team and rightly so as I was the slowest of the four of us by about 15 seconds. It was a great afternoon for running - dry and cool - and a really nice course. Dave and Emma seemed to have fun spectating and it was fun to be part of a team. There were two Southampton women’s teams in the race with our team being just behind the vets team all the way, which made pacing myself on my leg (the third) much easier. I felt good, although a bit heavy legged. I’m definitely enjoying the short races at the moment, even though driving for an hour each way to run for 16 and a half minutes seemed a bit over the top!
