Triple O Severn

This post is already out of date as the Triple O Severn ended 6 days ago. However, there are still things to say about it (although probably few that people would be interetested in reading!).

I had a pretty successful weekend of orienteering, with a second place in the British Middle Distance Championships on the Saturday and a win at the national event on the Sunday. I’ve been trying to remember since whether this is my first win on elite at a national event, and I think it is. Maybe it’s the start of my come back! Obviously doing much less training over the winter has paid off!

I found the areas much more pleasant than I’d expected to and my new positive attitude to racing seemed to be standing me in good stead. After plodding around the British Long Distance Champs a few weeks ago I decided that enough was enough and that I was going to try to go a bit faster, even if it did mean making more mistakes. The first try was at the Compass Sport Cup Final and boy did I make mistakes there. However, it was fun! So, that’s my strategy from now onwards - run hard, always.

I’ve no events planned for the next few weeks so things could get a bit quiet again on this site. Keep running!
